Let Them Eat Cake! Class Kit
by Jenny Heid & Aaron Nieradka Who could possibly go to an artistic gathering without bringing a cake?! On this piece a three tiered, Marie Antoinette inspired cake holds center stage but the real star of the show is the backdrop of torn and collaged original vintage wallpapers. We painted the wallpaper patterns especially for this project and made sure to keep them within the range of our favorite color palette: pale pink, aqua and sepia. For good measure, a bit of vintage sheet music is mixed in bearing the fitting song: A Little Bird Told Me. The cake is adorned with lots of texture and three dimensional elements such as a cut out print of our little pink bird complete with actual pink tail feather and rhinestone eye...also some creamy white millinery flowers w/pearl centers and "piped" garlands of German glass glitter. Along the bottom we've trimmed the piece with adorable cream pom poms and up top we hung it with aqua and pink seam binding, and vintage lace. The piece measures 11x14" and is on a thin and lightweight piece of wood. * Three pages of very detailed instructions!..easy to follow! :) We had so so much fun teaching this class at Silver Bella!!
